Pete and Doug have started Paddle 320!

Today marked the start of the 'Paddle 320' event by Pete Wells and Doug Lucas. They started paddling from Boomerang Beach in NSW and their aim was to travel over 54 km to get to Hawks Nest by tonight. The journey will see them paddle over 320km to reach Shellharbour by this Saturday. The whole Everest team wishes them good luck as they commence this awesome endurance event to help raise money for Bowel Cancer Australia. Check out more info at www.paddle320.com

Expedition Leader Ronnie Muhl leaves Australian shores

Australian Everest Expedition 2010 leader Ronnie Muhl has left Australia this morning after his completing his whirlwind round of presentations. Over 1000 people attended Ronnies presentations on his successful summit of Mt. Everest in 2007. These presentations were conducted on behalf of the Australian team to raise money and awareness for Bowel Cancer Australia. Many of the teams sponsors held evenings including major sponsor Col Crawford BMW, Westpac, Energy Australia and Ray White. "We were amazed at the incredible response and support we received during these events." - Stephen Bock.

He shared his strategies for both business and mountain climbing success with the team during this unique breakfast event. Wednesday nights function at Col Crawford Motors for their VIP BMW clients was a sellout success. Ronnie Muhl, expedition leader of the Australian Everest 2010 Expedition presented to the audience on his successful summit of Mt. Everest in 2007. The audience was captivated as Ronnie took them to over 29,000 ft and -40 degrees!

Australian Everest climbing team member Peter Wells is in Queensland this weekend for the Coolangatta Gold Event. The rest of the Aussie team wish him the best and are eager to hear how he places. Last year he placed in the top 10 for his division. Peter is using this event as one of his lead up events to the Everest expedition in 2010.

Welcome to Everest 2010

In an attempt to raises awareness of Australia’s second biggest cancer killer, a team of experienced climbers have decided to tackle Mount Everest. On this site you will be able to follow their progress and help support them in their endeavour.

Public awareness of bowel cancer in Australia needs improving. We can all do our part to assist not only those undergoing treatment but those who spend their lives trying to find a cure by supporting Bowel Cancer Australia’s fundraising and awareness endeavours. The ‘Everest 2010’ expedition is one way that you can help out today. Funds raised will go towards both the cost of the expedition and to Bowel Cancer Australia.
